A feature that locks S3 objects so they cannot be overwritten or deleted for a set period, or indefinitely.
It implements a WORM (Write Once Read Many) model, used to defend against ransomware and to meet compliance requirements around preventing data tampering. It can be configured (in "compliance mode") so that even an administrator cannot delete an object during the lock period.
