A benchmarking tool that measures actual TCP/UDP throughput, used to verify effective network bandwidth. Because it runs dedicated processes on both the client and server to measure throughput, it can verify what a plain ping can't show -- the actual achievable throughput -- while varying parameters like TCP window size or the number of parallel streams.
