A test that operates an actual browser or similar client to verify an entire system, from the user's action all the way through to what's displayed on screen.
Short for End-to-End Test. While a unit test verifies a single function and an integration test checks how multiple modules work together, an E2E test verifies a whole real-world user scenario, such as everything from login through completing a purchase. Because they're slow to run, it's common to keep the number of E2E test cases smaller than unit or integration tests.
