E2E (End-to-End) Test

English

Overview

A test that operates an actual browser or similar client to verify an entire system, from the user's action all the way through to what's displayed on screen.

Details

Short for End-to-End Test. While a unit test verifies a single function and an integration test checks how multiple modules work together, an E2E test verifies a whole real-world user scenario, such as everything from login through completing a purchase. Because they're slow to run, it's common to keep the number of E2E test cases smaller than unit or integration tests.
