An attack that injects false information into a DNS cache to redirect users to a malicious site.
An attack that injects a forged response into a caching server, causing a legitimate domain name to incorrectly resolve to an IP address chosen by the attacker. A widely used countermeasure randomizes the transaction ID and source port used in each query, making it much harder for an attacker to guess and forge a matching response.
