A mechanism that performs access control on a per-switch-port basis.
A control method that requires authentication on a per-physical-port basis and denies traffic until authentication succeeds. Implemented via 802.1X. A common setup blocks devices that fail authentication or haven't authenticated from the normal VLAN and automatically routes them to a guest VLAN instead.
