A spanning tree protocol that speeds up STP, shortening convergence time.
Short for Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol. A standard that dramatically speeds up convergence after a topology change compared to conventional STP. Convergence that once took tens of seconds is shortened to a few seconds, and it's now used as the de facto standard on most switches.
