An attack that overwhelms a service by concentrating a flood of traffic from many compromised sources.
Short for distributed denial-of-service attack. Traffic is sent to a target simultaneously from a large number of devices in a botnet, making the service unavailable to legitimate users. It's mitigated using WAFs, CDNs, and dedicated protection services.
