A BGP-based technology used to control overlays such as VXLAN.
Short for Ethernet VPN. A technology that uses BGP as the control plane to efficiently distribute MAC/IP address information for overlay networks such as VXLAN. Its main advantage is turning MAC address learning -- which VXLAN alone handles through static configuration or flooding -- into something dynamic and scalable by riding on BGP's route-exchange machinery.
