A Cisco proprietary protocol that provides redundancy for the default gateway across multiple routers while also load-balancing traffic between them.
Short for Gateway Load Balancing Protocol. Unlike HSRP or VRRP, which generally use only one router as active at a time, GLBP can distribute traffic across multiple routers simultaneously.
