A setting that forwards traffic addressed to a specific external port to a specific internal device.
A setting that forwards inbound traffic addressed to a specific port on a router or similar device to a specified device and port inside the internal network. Used for example to expose a home server externally, though it also carries security risk. A typical rule might explicitly forward inbound port 80 traffic to 192.168.1.10:80 on the internal network.
