Overview

A mechanism for forwarding and aggregating device logs to an external server.

Details

A mechanism that forwards and aggregates log messages from multiple devices to an external server in a standardized format, saving the trouble of checking each device individually and streamlining fault investigation. Each message carries a Facility (the type of source) and a Severity (an 8-level scale from 0 to 7), which can be used to filter logs or route alerts by importance.
