Replicating zone information from a primary DNS server to a secondary.
The process of replicating the zone data held by a primary DNS server to a secondary DNS server. Allowing it without restriction risks leaking a domain's configuration information to outside parties. There are two methods: AXFR, a full copy, and IXFR, which sends only the changes; the lighter-weight IXFR is normally preferred.
