Smokeping

English

Overview

A tool that continuously graphs and records connectivity and latency trends over time.

Details

A tool that performs periodic connectivity checks and records latency and packet-loss trends as a long-term graph. Its name comes from how it displays several closely-spaced measurements per interval as an overlapping 'smoke' pattern on the graph, rather than a single ping -- making latency variation (jitter) visually obvious in a way a plain line graph can't show.
