A mechanism that sets a priority value in the header of an IP packet.
Short for Differentiated Services Code Point. A mechanism that uses a field in the IP header to indicate a packet's priority class, used as basic information for QoS control. Its 6-bit field can express up to 64 values; standard classes like EF (Expedited Forwarding) for voice and AF (Assured Forwarding) for video are commonly used.
