Short for Fiber To The Home. A method that runs fiber optic cable from the carrier's facility all the way to the subscriber's home without converting to coaxial or copper cable partway. It has an edge over HFC in transmission quality and bandwidth, but incurs the cost of newly laying cable all the way indoors.
