A newer fiber-internet connection method that carries IP packets directly over Ethernet without using PPP.
Short for IP over Ethernet. It skips the authentication and session-establishment steps used by PPPoE, and routes traffic (via IPv6 IPoE, commonly branded as things like "v6 Plus" in Japan) around the network termination device that tends to cause congestion, resulting in more consistent speeds even during peak hours.
