A PON termination device installed at the carrier's facility.
Short for Optical Line Terminal. A device installed at a carrier's facility that aggregates and controls communication with the multiple ONUs under a PON, also serving as the connection point to the upstream network. The standard caps how many subscribers a single port can serve, with split ratios of 1:32 or 1:64 commonly used.
