A configuration that establishes a BGP neighbor relationship with a peer that isn't directly connected.
A setting that lets routers form a BGP neighbor relationship even when they aren't directly connected; it's used with eBGP. Because eBGP normally assumes a direct connection, a topology with other routers in between also requires adjusting the TTL limit accordingly.
