Troubleshooting

Ping Timeout

English

Overview

A state where no response arrives within a set time, causing the connectivity check to fail.

Details

A state where no response to a ping request arrives within the specified time. It can be caused by network failure or ICMP filtering. A plain timeout (no response at all) has a different cause than a "Destination Unreachable" ICMP error explicitly returned by a router along the path, so the two should be investigated separately.
